AI Exposure - Nigerian Jobs

Nigerian Job Market Visualizer Live Scoring

This tool visualizes 280 occupations across the Nigerian economy, covering an estimated 80M jobs. Each rectangle's area is proportional to estimated employment. Color shows AI exposure score — how much current and near-term AI could reshape that occupation. Click any tile to see its full score and rationale.

LLM-powered scoring: Each occupation's description was sent to an AI model (Claude by Anthropic) with a structured scoring rubric calibrated from 0 (entirely physical, no AI impact) to 10 (fully digital, AI can do most of it today). The Nigerian context matters — cash-based transactions, physical trust, and informal sector dynamics all factor into scores.

Live scoring: Unlike similar tools, you can type any job title — even ones not in the database — and get an instant AI exposure score. Try it in the sidebar.

Consider both direct effects (AI automating tasks) and indirect effects
(AI making workers so productive fewer are needed).

Key signal: if the job can be done entirely from a computer, exposure
is inherently high (7+). Jobs requiring physical presence, manual skill,
or real-time human interaction have a natural barrier.

Context: Score this occupation as practiced in Nigeria. Consider typical
tools, technology available, level of digitization, cash-based economy,
and whether physical/social/trust components are essential.

Caveat on scores: These are LLM estimates, not rigorous predictions. A high score does not predict the job will disappear. Software developers score 9/10 because AI is transforming their work — but demand for software could easily grow as each developer becomes more productive. The score does not account for demand elasticity, latent demand, regulatory barriers, or social preferences for human workers. Many high-exposure jobs will be reshaped, not replaced.
